Bird in Space (2018)

By subtracting the players from the game it becomes only the object
performing feats of greatness all on their own. This shifts the praise we give to professional athletes onto the objects they use. In the digital manipulation process the software sampled the surroundings of the subtracted areas in order to camouflage its absence. This effect added a phantom-like feeling to the image, further abstracting the players away from the subject: the object itself.
The postions of grace these objects find themselves in are charged and meditative. Demanding attention through potential energy these objects become attractive in a visceral way, stripped down from  the extras. These objects become just birds in space.
